You're invited to step into the wonder of the cosmos at Carefree Under the Stars—a family-friendly stargazing event taking place on Saturday Oct. 4, from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Our Lady of Joy Church parking lot.
In partnership with Focus Astronomy Outreach, guests will enjoy a rare opportunity to view the night sky through professional telescopes and explore a fascinating mobile meteorite exhibit. Astronomy experts will guide participants through a tour of the night sky’s constellations with a laser and answer questions about galaxies, planets, and deep space wonders—creating an unforgettable evening for stargazers of all ages.
Come early to enjoy special pre-event activities hosted by Desert Foothills Land Trust, designed to engage and educate before the telescopes take over the night.
Be sure to BYOC—Bring Your Own Chair—and feel free to bring any binoculars you have at home so you can learn how to stargaze on your own. Whether you're a budding astronomer or just curious about the stars, this night promises a brilliant blend of science, nature, and community.
Let’s gather under the stars and experience the universe—together!
