For 17 years, the Town of Carefree has proudly brought the community together to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of our nation's veterans. This cherished tradition returns on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion, inviting residents and visitors to gather for an afternoon of inspiring stories, patriotic music, and heartfelt tributes.
This year's celebration will feature keynote speaker Master Sgt. Scott Ford (Retired), a decorated U.S. Army Green Beret and Silver Star recipient, who will share his experiences and reflections on courage, resilience, and service. Chief Master Sgt. Chuck Lee (Retired), U.S. Air Force and Carefree SkyRanch Airport Manager, will also offer remarks on the significance of Veterans Day.
The ceremony will include participation from local youth with Imprints of Honor (formerly Veterans Heritage Project), patriotic performances by Ava Cohen and the Main Event Swing Band, and military service hymns honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. The afternoon will conclude with a moving performance of "The Last Post" and "Taps" on responding bugles.
This event is free and open to the public. Join us as we come together to express our gratitude, honor our veterans, and ensure their stories and sacrifices are never forgotten.
Before or after the program, take a moment at the Veterans Memorial in the Carefree Desert Gardens to pay your respects to all the veterans who have served.
